How to Create a Context Menu Item to Copy a Text File To the Clipboard in Windows 7 or Vista or XP

July 29th, 2010

Are a fan of using text-format files to store your information? Have you ever feel annoying and troublesome when you want to copy information to the clipboard? Here we will take a look at how to achieve it by creating a context menu item to copy a text file to the clipboard rather than do some messy steps: open the file in notepad, select all you want, than copy to the clipboard…

Note: This tip is suitable for Windows 7/Vista/Xp users.

Using the Copy to Clipboard Hack

Just hold down the Shift key and right-click on a text file, then you’ll see a new item for “Copy to Clipboard”:

Now you’ll have the information on the clipboard for easy pasting into whatever application you’d like as the screenshot shown below.

Note: If you are just a Windows XP computer user, you can download clip.exe from Microsoft. Just save the file in the Windows directory and the rest of the hack should work for you.

Manual Registry Hack (for .txt files)

Simply open up regedit.exe through the Start Menu search or run box, and then browse down to the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\txtfile\shell

Under each file type in the registry (for instance txtfile), there is a shell key with a list of actions under it. Here we create a new key called “copytoclip”, and then a key under it called “command”. Set the default value of “copytoclip” to something useful like “Copy Contents to Clipboard”, and then set the default value of “command” to the following:

cmd /c clip < “%1?

What we’re doing is running a command prompt, and then piping the file into the clip.exe utility. You could do the same thing from the command prompt, or in a script.

Note: Also you can duplicate this same tweak for other file types (like html or code files), by finding their key in the registry and adding the same menu items.

Downloadable Registry Hack

Just download, extract, and double-click on CopyContentsToClipboardTXT.reg to the clipboard. You can remove the hacks with the RemoveCopyContentsToClipboard.reg file.

Just remember to hold down the shift key while right-clicking on a text file.

General Tips and Ideas About Internet Marketing

July 29th, 2010

Internet marketing is the practice of using all facets of internet advertising to generate a response from your audience. Internet marketing is by far the fastest growing advertising method for all companies in this day and age. Through my experience in dealing with internet marketing I have outlined below a few tips for the inexperienced of advertising your business online.

Marketing

Marketing budgets are rapidly being transferred to online. Internet marketing also referred as Online Marketing can sometimes include information management, public relations, customer service, and sales. It ties together both the creative and technical aspects of the internet, including design, development, advertising and marketing. It is a unique way of marketing because it involves a bunch of technical skills and marketing theories. For more details go to www.mrx-interview.com .Topics include business information, crisis communication, marketing associations and publications, online and off-line marketing. In order for your website to generate revenue, an effective online marketing campaign is essential.

Email

Email marketing is not about the vast amounts of email addresses you can get your hands on. Cost per acquisition is the best way to do your internet marketing with emails. I had came across a lot of people they claimed themselves as Internet Marketing Professional saying that Email marketing has a very bad reputation and suggesting people not to include it in their internet marketing campaign. A popular email request that’s circulating right now is built on the ‘triangle theory’. For example, if you’re a restaurant, print your address on your menus, brochures, business cards, signage, advertising, email signature, door, handouts, hats and t-shirts.

Websites

Internet marketing first began in the early 1990s as simple, text-based websites that offered product information. While news releases are meant to be a mechanism for announcing company news and/or financials to news media and journalists, the use of RSS to syndicate releases to news and blog websites places that content directly in front of consumers. The internet is a network of inter-linked websites, the ones with the most and best links had to be the most popular, but then Google got cleaver by counting and grading inbound links vs.

Internet marketing professionals mostly are not the guys you can find in a traditional marketing company. For more information logon to www.the-forum-list.com .Internet marketing experts agree that anyone who is interested in doing business on the Internet should take time to learn about what it is they are getting into. To clarify, while internet marketing can cover any facet of online marketing as described above, current use of the term internet marketing commonly refers to the use of direct response marketing strategies, that were traditionally used in direct mail, radio, and TV infomercials, applied to the internet business space.

4 Important Tips to Write A Sales Letter Effectively

July 29th, 2010

Writing a sales letter can be a challenging exercise. You can be the best sales man in the world but writing one can be a very different process. Many also claim to be experts in this subject matter. I myself don’t claim to be an expert writing one but what I do know from experience is that a few common things apply when writing sales letter to your customers.

Making a Clear Offer

This is the first and most basic thing you need to do for your sales letter. You need to explain to your customers what you are trying to offer and how they can benefit from your offer. Try imagining that you are the salesperson talking with a potential customer just like in real life face to face and apply that same principle of communicating with customers on the internet. Add a more personal touch to your sales letter. People will feel a better connection with you than a salesletter sounding too much like an article.

What’s in it for me?

Your customers will definitely wonder if your offer is worth it and if they could actually benefit from taking up your offer. They will ask, “What’s in it for me?” If you don’t provide an answer to this basic question, chances are that you will never convince them to take up your offer or even read your sales letter anymore. People have a short attention span especially with the flood of emails these days so you have to provide a quick summary in the beginning to capture your customer’s attention before they close your email.

Clear Call To Action

Are you telling your customers to do something after reading your sales letter? Are there any clear instructions what to do next? In this day and age, people generally like to be led by the hand. If you can guide them step by step right down to the very minor detail to make money, customers will flock to you and even more will come if you can proof that they can make money on their own.  Of course you don’t have to lead them every step, but the most important thing to tell your customers is to subscribe to your newsletter or ebook so that more calls to action can be made by doing that.

An Exit Strategy

This might be a sneaky thing to do for some. An exit strategy means that you have a system put into place to get people to subscribe or opt in to your sales letter. A good example of this is an exit popup window. Some might not like the idea of a popup because it is intrusive but try making a simple popup with good info and present it to your visitors. Studies have shown that there is a higher opt in rate with websites with popup windows.

These tips may seem simple even to a newbie, but there are not many marketers utilizing this methods or tips to write better sales letter. Some might think that these are minor changes but you’ll be surprise that even minor changes can have a significant impact on your sales and optins.

I wish you success!

Internet Marketing Tips – Earth Is Running Some Kind Of Special

July 19th, 2010

Well, 2007 is in the books and now it’s time to get ready for the new year. This article is going to share with you my Earth is running some kind of special. This is all based on my own personal experience that has allowed me to build a 6 figure income this past year. I have no doubt that these tips will greatly help you in working your way towards YOUR goals.

The first, and absolutely most important item for 2008 is to make a business plan for the year and a daily schedule. When you don’t know what you’re going to do on a daily basis, it makes it that much harder to get anything done. Trust me, I know. That’s why I not only know what products I will be creating for 2008, but I also know what I will be doing every single day..almost to the hour. Yes, it takes a lot of discipline to be that organized, but trust me, if you can pull it off, you’ll find your productivity increasing by at least 100%.

The next piece of advice I’m going to offer is to study constantly. Marketing methods are changing on a daily basis. Once upon a time, believe it or not, there were no blogs, no Squidoo, no web 2.0 and no Digg. The Internet changes 10 times faster than the offline world. Those who don’t keep up end up falling behind the rest of the pack. It’s not fair, but it’s the way it is. Technology is also changing constantly. Tasks that used to take hours to do can now be done in minutes.

The final piece of advice I am going to leave you with is to set goals. You can’t imagine how much easier it is to see progress in your business when you set goals for yourself. At the start, set them low. When I first started marketing online, my first goal was to make $1,000 a month. It was a modest goal but I knew it was one I could reach fairly easily. Once I did, my next goal was $2,000 and so on. Today, I am earning over five figures monthly. It takes time, but eventually you will see progress if you keep working at it on a daily basis.

Please check out the other articles I’ve written on Internet marketing and the ones that I will be writing this year. I am certain that you will find your business becoming more and more profitable each day just by reading what I have learned over the last 5 years of marketing.
